Viennese Panda becomes adventurous
VIENNA: Five-month-old giant panda "Fu Hu" (meaning lucky tiger in
Chinese) has recently become adventurous in Vienna's Schoenbrunn Zoo,
Austrian Times reported Thursday.
Dagmar Schratter, director of the zoo, said Fu Hu weighed 10
kilograms now and started to clamber around in its enclosure to attract
visitors.
"It likes sitting on a platform and watch its numerous fans
carefully." she added.
The director also said that the panda's sharp claws helped it to
climb around on tree trunks. "Fu Hu prefers to doze in a crotch rather
than sleep in its birth box."
Fu Hu's parents, Long Hui and Yang Yang, were transferred from China
to Schoenbrunn Zoo in 2003 with a loan agreement of 10 years. The couple
gave birth to their first cub Fu Long in 2007.
According to the agreement, the offsprings of the couple will be
returned to China at the age of two. VIENNA, Friday, Xinhua
