TCK weightlifters excel at Junior Nationals
The successful SL Junior National Championships came to its
conclusion with very positive outcomes recently. Sri Lanka Weightlifting
Federation Headquarters proved an ideal venue for the competition which
had the national flavor with lifters from many schools and sports clubs

Trinity weightlifters, few of the most exciting young weightlifting
talents Sri Lanka, amassed a string of age-group titles at the
Championships. Trinity lifter Kaneel Senevirathna snatched 80kg and then
clean-and-jerked 115kg to a total lift of 195kg to register three new
Sri Lanka Junior National Records.
"We came here with high expectations and we achieved it. TCK lifters
did well as I hoped. I need to make them a bit more professional in
future in terms of making weight," Trinity Coach P K N Dayan said.
"TCK lifters are keen on how to do the technique. They absolutely
love lifting weight and are very dedicated. Knowing that they are really
strong boosts their self-confidence so much. They are dedicated lifters
and it has changed their lives," added Dayan.
