Matara team ‘A’ emerges Deaf Six-A-Side champs

Matara team ‘A’ came out with flying colours displaying their talent to win the Sri Lanka Central Federation of the Deaf Trophy, beating the Galle team ‘A’ in the finals of the All Island Deaf Six-A-Side Softball Cricket tournament, at the Davindra Wijaya Mendis Stadium, Katunayake, recently. The tournament was organized by Sri Lanka Youth Association of the Deaf under the guidance of President Ruwan Dimmka. The winners, runners-up and the special prize winners received cash awards and medals, Sri Lanka Central Federation of the Deaf designation Sarath Kumara was the chief guest and gave away the awards.

Quarter finals:

Youth team ‘B’ beat youth team ‘A’ by 2 wickets.

Youth team ‘A’ - 28 runs for 1 wicket in 4 overs.

Youth team ‘B’ - 31 runs for 2 wickets in 4 overs.

Youth team ‘B’ beat Sabaragamuwa team ‘A’ by 12 runs.

Colombo team ‘B’ - 41 runs for 1 wicket in 40 overs.

Colombo ‘B’ - 41 runs for 1 wicket in 40 overs.

Sabaragamuwa team ‘A’ - 29 runs for 3 wickets in 4 overs.

Matara team ‘A’ beat Kegalle team ‘A’ by 5 wickets.

Kegalle team ‘A’ - 19 runs for 4 wickets in 4 overs.

Matara team ‘A’ - 20 runs for 4 wickets in 4 overs.

Galle team ‘A’ beat Youth team ‘C’ by 4 wickets.

Youth team ‘C’ - 22 runs for 2 wickets in 4 overs.
