Damaged irrigation works renovated

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa has focussed his attention on the immediate restoration of about four hundred sub irrigation works which have been destroyed due to floods in the Central Province.

Central Province Agriculture Minister Nimal Piyatissa said that about one hundred and fifty million rupees will be necessary to restore the canals, small tanks and other irrigation works in the Central Province.

The provincial Agriculture Minister's attention has been focussed on a directive issued by Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa. According to Minister Piyatissa, he has commenced compiling a detailed report on this project to be submitted to Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
