Engineer deserted: Ship apprehended

A second engineer of a South Korean ship was allegedly left in Sri
Lanka territorial waters on Thursday night. Navy spokesman Commander
Prasanna Kosala Warnakulasooriya told the Daily News that the Navy was
informed about a ship that had left a crew member and had left to Goa.
He added that two navy Dvoras pursued the ship and apprehended it 48
nautical miles away from Sri Lankan shores. Commander Warnakulasuriye
said that the ship is anchored in the sea off Panadura.
The entire ship crew consisted of Russians. The victim was also a
Russian.
A boat of the Sri Lanka Port Authority had found the victim in the
sea who was admitted to hospital.
