Lake House stall selected best at Deyata Kirula
The Lake House Media Stall was selected as the best and the most
creative stall at the just concluded Deyata Kirula Exhibition in
Buttala.

The Lake House stall at the Media Zone of the Deyata Kirula
exhibition obtained first place out of all media stalls.
The plaque for this achievement was ceremonially handed over to a
Lake House official by Telecommunication and Information Technology
Minister and Deyata Kirula Exhibition Steering Committee Chairman
Ranjith Siyambalapitiya during the final day ceremony amidst a large
gathering at the main stage under the patronage of several Ministers,
Uva Province Chief Minister Shashendra Rajapaksa and Media and
Information Ministry Secretary W B Ganegala.
Lake House has been taking part in every Deyata Kirula Exhibition
since its inception five years ago.
The Lake House Stall provided knowledge and information while
showcasing the history of both Lake House and the print industry.
The stall received thousands of visitors.
The visitors could get an overall picture about the process of a
print media institution. Each visitor was given a copy of the historic
first page of the first Dinamina Newspaper printed on December 17, 1909.
In addition, a copy of the first page of the first Silumina Newspaper,
printed on March 30, 1930 was also issued free. Besides, the Lake House
carried out entertainment and knowledge sharing programs throughout the
day with the participation of many artistes on a large open stage.
The Media Zone of the exhibition premises was always crowded. All
print and electronic media institutions participated in the Deyata
Kirula Exhibition. The Government Film Corporation came second while
Neth FM obtained the third place. DSA
