NRC report handed over to President

The Patriotic National Movement (PNM) handed over the final report on National Revival Commission (NRC) to President Mahinda Rajapaksa Monday to explain the way the country should go forward after the elimination of terrorism.

PNM Chairman Dr Gunadasa Amarasekera was addressing a media briefing in Colombo yesterday.

Terrorism has been eradicated from the country in 2009 but the Tamil diaspora has started international campaigns to make Eelam dream a reality. The PNM appointed 14 members to the National Revival Commission in June, 2010 to protect the country from the these dangers.

Recommendations are, to abolish the 13th amendment to the constitution, to ensure ethnic harmony and economic prosperity in the country, to make the people aware on the foreign and local conspiracy and to eliminate factors which help the eruption of terrorism.

PNM Secretary Wasantha Bandara and several other members also participated.
