Night Street Racing Mar 17/18

The first ever speed 2011 Night Street race organised by the Sri Lanka Motor Cycle Club and the Kandy Off Road Adventure Club which was scheduled to be held in Kandy on March 11 and 12 has been postponed for March 17th (practices) and Friday March 18 (official Races).

This was disclosed to the Daily News by the organiser in Kandy Thusith de Silva.

He also said that a total 17 events including high powered Motorcycles, Modified Cars, Super Cars and Formula Cars will be worked off commencing at 8.30 p.m.

The streets will be lit by a special lighting system imported from China.

Since this race will be conducted only in the broad streets of Kandy City commencing near Queen's Hotel, maximum safety will be taken for both competitors and the spectators who will not be permitted on the roads and only at identified safe places to watch the races.
