Rs One M water fraud at hotel

A Tourist Hotel Manager at Old Station Road, Mount Lavinia was taken
into custody by the Police and Water Resources Board officials for
fraudulently taking water using a false metre.
The fraud had cost the Water Board nearly Rs One million. The Hotel
Management had been taking water from the main water supply connection
for a considerable period, investigations revealed. Mount Lavinia Chief
Magistrate Nirosha Fernando remanded the suspect Jayaweera Arachchige
Neil Marcus until today. |
