Make cadet training must for students - Dullas

Cadet Training should be made compulsory for every student, said Youth Affairs and Skills Development Minister Dullas Alahapperuma yesterday.

The Minister made this observation at Rantambe addressing a meeting after distributing certificates to the cadets who passed out yesterday.

The Minister said that cadet training ensured discipline among schoolchildren and could make them patriots.

Alahapperuma added that cadet training in Sri Lanka dated back to 1886.

Cadet Battalion Director and Lieutenant Colonel S G G S Dharmaratne and Southern Province Deputy Director Lieutenant Colonel S J Lanarolle were also present at the passing out parade.
