Ahungalla police arrested two members of a gang who had abducted a young woman in Panamula, taken her to the beach and raped her with four others. Investigations revealed that two gang members had arrived in a three-wheeler while the 32 year old woman had been in the verandah of her house and forced her into the three-wheeler. The woman had recognized the two men who abducted her but the others are absconding. The two suspects were produced before the Balapitiya Magistrate and remanded till February 5.
