Ushan puts Vidyartha on top

A brilliant knock of 109 with 14 fours and one six off 126 balls by
all-rounder Ushan Wickremasinghe put Vidyartha College on top in their
inter-school cricket match against St Anthony's College, Wattala which
began at police grounds, Kandy yesterday. The match will be continued
today at 9.30 am.
This innings by Ushan Wickremasinghe was one of the finest seen this
season as he executed some elegant drives which was pleasing to watch.
Apart from him Samitha Attanayake batted well to score 55 with 10
fours and a six off 46 balls showing some sort of an aggression. Overall
the Vidyaratha College batting showed consistency with 8 of their
batsmen entering double figures. Openers put on 65 and the highest stand
of the innings was 70 for the fifth wicket but overall they did not lose
wickets at regular intervals.
Having posted a very good total of 340 all out, Vidyartha College
have struck again by having the Wattala Antonian struggling at 34 for 2
at close. Ushan Wickremasinghe has taken 2 for 9.
