Hameed Al Husseini enter semi-finals

Hameed Al Husseini MV, Colombo entered the semi-final of the Hameed Al Husseini Old Boys '80 Group organized Invitation Schools Soccer Championship yesterday beating Al Hilal MV from Negombo 9-1 at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

It was almost a one-sided affair with the Colombo school netting in six goals before the 'lemons break', giving only a single goal to their opponents. But in the second session of play, boys from Negombo played a little bit better to restrict Hameedians to only three goals, but failed to add anything to their tally. In the first quarter final Lumbini MV outplayed Isipatana College two goals to nil to make their way to the semi-final which is scheduled for tomorrow at the same venue.

The first semi-final will see Holy Cross College take on Hameed Al Husseini while the second semi-final will be between Lumini MV and Zahira College, Colombo to be played soon after the first game.

The tournament is organized by Hameed Al Husseini Old Boys '80 Group which has conducted this event continuously for five years.
