Keep politics away from places of religious worship - Namal

Temples have suddenly gained the special attention of certain
politicians having dreams of party leadership, said Hambantota District
Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa.

No one will condone the use of places of religious worship for narrow
political gain, he said when he opened a new Dharmasalava at the
Visuddharamaya, Mawilmada, Kandy, Sunday. Kandy District MP Dilum
Amunugama presided. Rajapaksa said the President is now laying the
ground work for ushering in a massive development program within the
next six years with the support of the ministers and MPs.
The government objective is to produce a knowledgeable young
generation who can get profit from this massive development envisaged in
the future, he said.
Rajapaksa said the government had ushered in an era where people in
the village can get their problems attended to at their very doorstep
without going to the city in search of officials.
The government is committed to develop the village and the temple
without any discrimination, he said. Kandy district MP Dilum Amunugama
said the Senkadagala electorate consisted of 64 Grama Niladhari
divisions.
All villages in the electorate will be developed within the next six
years at the rate of 10 villages per year, Amunugama said.
Viharadhipathi Ven Hiswelle Medhananda thera and several others also
spoke. Rajapaksa also opened the newly carpetted Mawilmada-Lewella road
and inaugurated a mobile service program at the venue.
