Flood relief:
ROK donates US $ 200,000
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Dr Choi Kichul expressed concern
about the national disaster in Sri Lanka caused by the recent heavy
rainfall and hoped the flood victims could restore to normal life as
soon as possible when he met Environment Minister Anura Priyadarshana
Yapa, at the Ministry on January 18, 2011.
The ROK Ambassador further stated that the Government of the Republic
of Korea made a decision to support the resettlement of the flood
victims with US $ 200,000 worth of relief supplies, and currently the
Disaster Management Centre (DMC) and the Korea International Cooperation
Agency (KOICA) are in coordination to work out the details of the relief
supplies."
