Rare double by Sanka

A very rare achievement of 101 runs and a match bag of 10 for 124 by Sanka Ramesh of Moratu Vidyalaya could not prevent more fancied St. Sebastians College gaining 32 runs first innings win over them in their inter-school under 19 cricket tournament match concluded at Vidyalaya grounds. This is the second instance in the history of Moratu Vidyalaya cricket that a player achieved this remarkable feat.

Sanka Ramesh completed a magnificent century with 17 hits to the ropes and facing 158 balls and occupying the crease for 246 minutes and associated a stubborn seventh wicket partnership of 94 runs with Janitha Nimesh who made 38 runs. Sanka Ramesh who took six wicket in Sebs first essay with his left arm legspin snatched four move wickets to make a match bag of 10 for 124 and his fally stands at 60 wickets and 562 runs in eight matches.

Visitors in their second essay scored 200 runs with Deshan Dias among the runs again with 70 and Charith Fernando contributing 69 runs. When the stumps were drawn Vidyalians were 95 for 5.
