President to open university precincts

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will ceremonially open the new university precincts built to make the Buddha Shravaka Bhikkhu University in Anuradhapura, a fully fledged International Buddhist University keeping with the Mahinda Chintana, at 10 am on January 22, 2011.

At the invitation of Ven Prof Thumbulle Seelakkhanda Thera, Mahopaddhya of Anuradhapura Buddha Shrawaka Bikkhu University, this opening ceremony is held with the participation of Chief Sangha Nayaka of Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya Davuldena Sri Gnanissara Thera.

Maha Sangha of the three Nikayas, North Central Province Governor, Karunaratna Divulgane, Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake, Higher Education Minister S B Dissanayake, Ministers S M Chandrasena, Tissa Karalliyadda, Deputy Ministers, Duminda Dissanayaka and W B Ekanayaka are expected to participate.
