Stepping stone to media field

The Institute of Media and Performing Arts (IMAP) will launch a course which targets at providing youths with the basic knowledge required to make a career in the media field. It will cater knowledge and experience to those who wish to join the press, television or radio and identify satisfactory jobs for them.

The course will be aimed at program production, penning scripts and articles, presentation skills, news reporting and reading, cinematography, advertising and other aspects in connection with the field. They will also be upgraded on the latest technological devices and means of handling equipments.

Prof Kusuma Karunarathna, senior journalists Asoka Thilakarathna, Saman Athaudahetti, Kusuma Chandra Arangala, Karunarathna Amarasinghe, seasoned artiste Jayalath Manorathna and other journalists and artistes will conduct the lectures.

They will be available to seek advice on which field is most suited for you. The course will begin in March.
