Navy nabs 26 for illegal fishing

Naval troops attached to SLNS Thambapanni in the North-western Naval Command arrested 26 persons for the possession of illegal fishing gear in the Sinnapadu area last week. They were handed over to Assistant Fisheries Director Puttalam.

Among the apprehended items were 187 conch shells, 84 oxygen cylinders, 17 diving fins and 16 diving masks.
