N Korea reiterates unconditional talks offer
N KOREA: The Democratic People's Republic of Korea Saturday
reiterated its proposal to South Korea to hold unconditional talks,
including the resumption of tours to Mount Kumgang and the Kaesong
Industrial Park.
The level, place, and date of the proposed contacts between the two
sides could be agreed by consensus, KCNA News Agency quoted the
spokesman of the Committee for Peaceful Reunification of the Homeland.
He also suggested renewing the talks between the Red Cross
Committees, and on the aforementioned tours, if possible, by the end of
this month or early in February. As a measure of good will to facilitate
the dialogue and improve relations, the North-South canal in Panmunjom
will be reopened, he said.
The North Korean talk offer is unconditional and completely open,
said the spokesman.
