SL university team excels

The Sri Lankan University team which represented the country in the Fifth South Asian Arts Festival in Dhaka, Bangladesh has won three excellent awards among eight countries.

The awards include the Best Band, the Best Sculpture and the Best Team in the Arts Festival, said Visual and Performing Arts University Vice Chancellor Senior Prof Jayasena Kottagoda.

The team comprised students from five universities, namely Colombo, Kelaniya, Eastern, Jaffna and Visual and Performing Arts Universities.

The tour was organized under the approval of University Grant Commission on an invitation from the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
