Italian jobs for Sri Lankans

The Italian Government has agreed to grant 3,500 job opportunities in Italy for Sri Lankan job seekers, said Sri Lanka Ambassador in Italy Hemantha Warnakulasuriya in a communique issued yesterday.

Sri Lankan job aspirants have to obtain the job directly from an employer resident in Italy by applying to the Italian Interior Ministry through the Internet. This means that any one seeking jobs has to inform the employer in Italy and not through any intermediary Agency", the release added.

This stipulation is aimed to safeguard job aspirants from the activities of fraudulent job agents, said Warnakulasuriya.

The job opportunities will be granted from 8 a m on January 31.
