Lingering memories

A tribute to my parents and teachers:

The eldest of four girls - in a family of nine
I pen a few lines and recall past times.
More than forty years ago our parents passed away
Lingering memories remain today
A happy home life - in spite of ups and downs
With comfort, love and care.
A disciplined FATHER - honest to the core
He set the lead for us to follow.
Generous and gracious MOTHER - our guiding star
Steered the family with patience and care.
Revered TEACHERS, dedicated, set high values
"Be steadfast and courageous, diligent and virtuous"
"Strive hard to gain knowledge, do not delay
Keep on learning everyday."
"Enthusiasm and decorum are embellishments" they stressed
"Speak up for Justice, Respect the Worthy."
In the evening of Life - I relax and ponder
