Maldivian team to tour Germany
The Maldives national football team will make a historic tour of
Germany in mid-2011 during which they will play nine matches.
During the tour they will play against district and provincial teams
from Berlin, Dortmund, Bremen, Munich, Cologne, Stuttgart, Liepzig,
Hamburg and Frankfurt.
The tour has been organized to give the much needed foreign exposure
to the Maldives national football team which has excelled in South Asian
Games in recent years.
The Maldives squad will comprise 18 players, national coach, manager
and a physiotherapist.
The experience gained by the tour will stand them in good stead at
the 2012 South Asian Games and bring about friendship and understanding
between the players of the two countries.
It is being organized by the Asian Games Sports Exchange Program and
co-ordinated by Lisa Fingerhut of Germany. |
