CL Synergy to open in India, Bangladesh

CL Synergy, a fully-fledged freight forwarding company in Sri Lanka
will expand its operations to India and Bangladesh this year.
"We have seen a significant volume of contribution from the
Bangladesh garment industry. CL Synergy will expand its operations to
India and Bangladesh as part of our regional expansions.
The Bangladesh branch will be set up in the first quarter of this
year. The Operations Head will be a local while the rest of the staff
will be recruited from Bangladesh," CL Synergy Managing Director Roshan
Silva told Daily News Business.
He said the volumes from Bangladesh will account to 99 percent from
garments industry.
India will be the other regional branch and various sector volumes
such as fibre and rubber products will be the main import-export goods.
Sri Lanka as well as the Asian region is coming out of the recession.
The exports and imports from these countries have grown significantly
to countries such as Europe and USA. "Industries should step out with
the right products that provide excellent opportunities for development.
Sri Lanka can practice the hub concept with the rapid development
taking place in maritime and other sectors," he said.
CL Synergy had a turnover growth of 50 to 60 percent while the entire
subsidiary had a growth. The staff of the company has also increased
from 90 employees to 150 employees during last year. |
