Age Group Swimming on Dec 26

The Central Province Aquatic Sports Association (CEPASA) is all set to hold its Sixth Age Group and Novices Swimming Championship 2010 at Dharmaraja College Swimming Pool, Kandy on Sunday December 26 commencing at 8 a.m.

A total of 750 men and women swimmers from all parts of the Central Province are expected to take the plunge.

This year the venue has been shifted from Peradeniya University Swimming Pool to Dharmaraja College for the first time.

Trinity College for men and Mahamaya Girls College for girls are the defending champions and it is left to be seen whether the other teams could topple them.

In fact both Trinity College and Mahamaya College have won this championship from the inception.

This will be also CEPASA's Second Swimming Championship for the year as they held one in January this year.

A total of 64 events for men and women will be worked off during the day and the prizes for the winners of the events will be awarded immediately on completion of the respective events to save time. The championship trophies will be awarded on conclusion of the meet.

Justice Ahamed Muthasim Adnan from the Republic of Maldives will be Chief Guest at the closing ceremony.
