CR Barbarians clinch Tag Rugby Sevens Title

The CR Barbarians clinched the Cup Championship of the CR and FC Wild
Elephant Tag Rugby Sevens Festival by beating Kelani Valley Rangers in
the final by 5 points (one try) to nil recently.
The CR Barbarians led by Ravindra Wekadapola had a star studded
outfit including former national players Asanga Rodrigo, Savantha de
Saram and M J Mushtaq. Lanka Lions Dubai bagged the Plate Championship
by overcoming Agoal Academy by 10 points (two tries) to 5 (one try) in
the final. The Lanka Lions was led by former Sri Lanka scrum half Roger
Rodrigo and also had Sudath Sampath and Kevin Rasquinhs in their ranks.
Mercantile RFU won the Bowl championship by getting the better of
Elephant House by 5 points (one try) to nil in extra time in the final
after the scores stood at nil-all at full time. In the cup championship
semi-finals CR Barbarians beat Ceylinco vip 15-0 while Kelani Valley
Rangers edged out Manu Golds by 5-0.
