National Scout Jamboree

The eight National Scout jamboree will be held in Anugunakolapelesa from December 27 to mark the centenary celebrations of the Sri Lanka Scout Association which falls in 2012.

It will be opened by the Chief Scout of Sri Lanka, President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The jamboree will coincide with the 9th National Cubboree for cub scouts to be held at Hungama Vidyalaya tomorrow.

A horse riding training program, youth program, scout activities, off-site excursions, sub camp displays, scout talent shows, and camp fires are some of the activities to be displayed.

Postal, banking, jamboree trading post, refreshments, an FM Radio Station, a media service, Internet Cafe, and Police services will be available at the Jamboree, Commissioner Shiraz Salihi said in a release.
