Sarapathi Andaheraya
The Kala Ulela Sarapathi Andaheraya organized by the Sinhala Literary
Society and Advanced Level Art stream of Sujatha Vidyalaya, Nugegoda was
held on December 6 at the school auditorium.
Chief guest was, University of Sri Jayawardenapura Sinhala and Mass
Communication Department Lecturer Hansamala Ritigahapola. Awards were
presented to winners in the fields of creative writing, essay writing
and oratory competitions. Items which were presented by the students
added colour to the function and were enjoyed by the audience.
Some of the eye catching events were the pooja dance done to a famous
Sinhala song Kula Gedarin Dumbara Kanduwatiyen and another to the song
Hanika Warew Kollane from the drama Bera Handa.
Sarapathi Andaheraya was brought to fame under the guidance of
principal Malini Abeysekara Dissanayaka, teachers-in-charge of the
Sinhala Literary Society Indeevari Jayasekera and R A D Rupasinghe.
