Twenty-nine schools, out of 58 in the Colombo Municipal Council area inspected by the Presidential Task Force for Dengue eradication, had Dengue mosquito breeding places. Among them were several popular schools. Eighteen schools were issued notice.

The fourth Dengue eradication program was carried out in the first week of December in which 50 percent of schools and institutions investigated had Dengue mosquito breeding places.

The inspection was carried out in 55 institutions and 58 schools with the assistance of 30 investigative teams. Notices were issued to 19 State and private organizations for having Dengue mosquito breeding places.
