Sports Minister likely to appoint new Interim Committee

New Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage is likely to appoint a fresh committee for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) following the resignation of two current members.

Reputed lawyer Kalinga Indatissa along with another member Prabath Fonseka yesterday decided to resign from the SLC Interim Committee.

Chairman SLC Interim Committee D Somachandra de Silva yesterday confirmed the resignation of Prabath Fonseka but was uncertain on the decision of Kalinga Indatissa.

The other members of the SLC Interim Committee are Secretary Nishantha Ranatunga, Treasurer Sujeewa Rajapaksa and member Asanga Seneviratne.

Mahindananda Aluthgamage was recently appointed as the new Sports Minister replacing C B Ratnayake.
