Prabash and Annie bring glory
The modern and Latin dance competition was held at the golden palm
tree hotel in Sepang Gold Cost Malaysia last month.

Competitors from around the world took part in over 40 Latin and
Modern events held for the very first time in Sepang. Prabash
Wanigathunge and Annie Ligory trained by Toni Fernandez of ADC
represented the country.
This was Prabash and Annie’s first ever foreign competition following
their very successful victory in the recently concluded footwork dance
sport championships held on December 10. Once again they won the
ballroom novice categories being ranked as second, third bringing glory
to Sri Lanka. The pair was sponsored by courtesy of Lanka Security stock
brokers.
The Singapore International Dance sport Championship will be held on
December 31 for the 23rd consecutive year at the Suntec Convention
Centre.Many competitors from around the world took part in over 60
categories in Modern and Latin dances; this was truly a stamina tester
for this couple participating in both Latin and Modern categories
changing from one costume to another and from one event to another
event, the stamina required to compete in such events were similar to a
competitor running marathon in an Olympic event.
No one in the audience left with disappointment since the
championship was filled with a lot of glamour and style and
entertainment, one couldn’t get enough of it. |
