'Darmasiswa Scholarship'
The Indonesian Government is offering "Darmasiswa Scholarship" to the
people of Sri Lanka who aspire to learn about Indonesian Arts, Culture
and Language in one of the 47 universities in Indonesia. The program,
which aim is encouraging better cultural understanding, will let the
participants to learn the uniqueness of Indonesian arts and culture and
give participants the chance of experience Indonesia. The fields of
studies are Bahasa Indonesia, gamelan music, dance art, music art,
ethnomusicology, puppetry, culinary, applied art, handicraft,
photography and batik art.
There are two kind of Darmasiswa program. One is one year program,
the other is 6 months program. This scholarship offers a full tuition
fee and monthly allowance.
However, the Darmasiswa RI does not cover flight costs from the
country of origin to Indonesia and vice versa.
The submission of application is due by the end of January 2011
through Indonesian Embassy in Colombo, 400/50, Sarana Road, Colombo 7.
The announcement of the scholarship recipient will be the beginning of
April 2011.
Some of the requirements of candidate's documents include completing
form, have completed secondary education, not more than 35 years, in
good health, 5 pieces of passport size photograph, copy of passport
valid for at least 18 months from arrival in Indonesia and has English
proficiency.
