A sound knowledge of all three languages, Sinhala, Tamil and English
would be indispensable for peace, harmony and mutual understanding among
the people of the country, Youth Affairs and Skills Development Minister
Dullas Alahapperuma said.
He was addressing a meeting having vested the Horagoda-Pangoda road
water supply project with the people at Horagoda, Tellijjawila recently.
Minister Alahapperuma said the government has implemented massive water
supply schemes in the Matara district spending billions of rupees.
The Mahinda Chintana National development policy has extended the
priority for rural infrastructural development.
Those who are politically bankrupt are attempting to gain their
ulterior motives even through sinister support of international
conspirators. Protest campaigns organized by those traitors will never
block the progressive march towards sustainable economic development, he
said.
The people of the country have trust and confidence in President
Mahinda Rajapaksa.
It has been proved through the clear mandate given to him at the last
presidential poll.
No other State leader in Sri Lanka had received such a mandate for
the second time at an election, the Minister said.
The Prime duty and the responsibility of the people would be to
extend the support to President Mahinda Rajapaksa and safeguard him
against national and international conspirators, he added.
Southern Provincial Council Member Manoj Sirisena said financial
allocations made by Minister Dullas Alahapperuma contributed to complete
the water supply project.
