Laugfs shares trade well

The ordinary voting shares of Laugfs Holdings Limited traded yesterday at a significantly higher value despite the depressed conditions in the market. There were 75 million voting shares traded yesterday.

The voting shares had a 50 percent contribution to the entire trading of Rs 1.2 billion turnover, Laugfs Holdings Limited Chairman W. K. H. Wegapitiya told Daily News Business. Today's performance was an encouraging fact and a positive sign to expect a bright future," he said.

"Market turnover was 1.6 billion while Laugfs contributed to 820 million worth of turnover," Asha Phillip Securities Limited, CEO and Director Dimuthu Abeyesekera told Daily News Business.

Laugfs' 52 million non voting shares will start trading today.
