Rs 18m allocated for LLRC

The Government has allocated Rs 18 million for the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) and further allocations will be made if the necessity arises, Parliament was told yesterday.

Answering a question raised by UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake, Chief Government Whip Water Supply and Drainage Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said that as at November 30 this year, LLRC had met for 52 sittings. The Commission is expected to submit its report by May 15, next year. The time period could be extended if needed.
