Harvard University Leadership Summit 2011:

Future business leaders to attend

Thirty-two next generation business and social leaders from Sri Lanka will attend the 2011 Leadership Summit at the USA, Boston, Harvard University. These promising Sri Lankan students between 16 to 19 from ten schools, will join 300 other teenagers from 30 countries for the one week summit next July, said the Harvard University Leadership at Action Summit Sri Lanka Representative, Ananda Rajapakse, who has taken over 500 Sri Lankan students for Leadership Summits in USA since 2000.

The delegates are, Bishops' College's Akana Jayawardena and Amani Wickramasinghe, Mt.Lavinia S.Thomas College's Nimantha Fernando, Lyceum International School's Minura Tissera, Asian International School's Jaikishan Jayesinght, Shenelle Siriwardena, Migara Cabral, Rashida Patel, Nishath Karim, Prashan Mendis, Ruchira Nanayakkara, Udesh Dharmadasa, Toshan Wickramanayake, Lishan Perera, Nitya Amalean, Senal Rajamanthri, Lahiru Gamage, Lakshitha Weerasuriya, Aqil Refai, Wiyan Perera and Kavindu Ranasinghe, Asian International School's Shireen Akbarally, Upeksha Narayana, Tharangee Mutucumarana, Mansha Abdulla, Aqla Mizver and Sachini Egodage, the British School in Colombo's Raga Raguraman and Sasha Chatoor, Elizabeth Moir School's Lukshmee Saravanapavan, St. Joseph's College's Dmitri Cooray and Colpetty, S Thomas Prep's Gimantha Perera.

Asian International School's former teacher Rochelle Melder will be the Delegation Manager.

Students from outside the USA represent 38% of the summit.

Their hands-on experiences, personal instructions and focused curricular will help them gain admission and scholarships to most top grade American Universities for their higher studies.

The Harvard University campus provides the perfect location for students to develop leadership skills, prepare for University admissions and build their communication and presentation skills.

During their week at Harvard, they will be inspired to callenge themselves, pursue their dreams and contribute to Sri Lanka and the world, said Rajapakse.

The 2011 July Summit is now filled and applications for the Harvard University Leadership Summit 2011 to be held from August 7 to 13 are now open and available free by email at [email protected]
