Grenade blast kills one, injures 14

One person died and 14 others including a Sub Inspector were injured when a suspect exploded a hand grenade inside the Nuwara Eliya police station while he was being questioned by the Police.

The suspect who was in possession of cannabis was arrested by Police and he was being interrogated when the blast occurred. The injured were admitted to Nuwara Eliya Base Hospital for treatment.

Several suspects in Police custody were also injured in blast. They were also admitted to the hospital. The Nuwara Eliya Police are investigating.
