Media program to guide children

A new media program targeting children will be conducted through the electronic media from next year to improve their knowledge and skills and inculcate high moral values in them, said Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

He said the program will include several sections to cover children from pre-school level to those following higher education.

Minister Rambukwella said he had paid special attention to the children programs including cartoon programs telecast on the electronic media. He said some of the vocabulary used in the media is inappropriate. All these wrongs will be corrected under the new program to promote child development in keeping with the country's development programs and needs.
