Rs 70m allocated

The Economic Development Ministry has allocated Rs 70 million towards the development of basic urban and rural facilities in the Anuradhapura electorate.

This includes Rs 5.5 million for the proposed Mahinda Rajapaksa playground at the Anuradhapura Maha Vidyalaya.

Rs 2 million for a carpark at Kadapanaha and Rs 2.08 million for an air conditioning network at the Anuradhapura Kidney Unit. Funds have been allocated for electricity, water supply, road and other infrastructure facilities including the development of pre-schools, daham pasalas and temples in all Divisional Secretariat divisions and Minister Basil Rajapaksa had instructed that all these schemes should be completed before the end of this year said Parliamentarian Shehan Semasinghe.
