Leadership not initiating inquiry:

UNPers protest outside Sirikotha

UNP MP Range Bandara has lodged a complaint with the Mirihana Police regarding a letter sent to the UNP working committee which according to him contains false allegations defaming his character.

In his complaint Range Bandara, MP has cited a person called Shantha Kumara Abeysekera who had physically assaulted him on an earlier occasion as the person responsible for the said letter.

A crowd including Range Bandara MP held a protest outside 'Sirikotha' yesterday for not initiating an inquiry by the UNP leadership into the said incident in which the MP was assaulted as well as regarding the defamatory letter.

The Police have begun investigations on the complaint lodged by Range Bandara MP.
