Fort to Bandarawela:

Holiday trains from Dec 11 to Jan 2

The Sri Lanka Railway acting on the directions of Transport Minister Kumara Welgama has arranged to operate a special inter-city train between Colombo Fort and Bandarawela from December 11 to January 2 for the convenience of commuters during the December school vacation and the Christmas season.

The train will leave Colombo Fort at 8.35 am and reach Bandarawela at 4.10 pm on December 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29 and 31. On the return trip it will leave Bandarawela at 6.40 am and reach Colombo Fort at 2.15 pm on December 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 and January 2.

It will stop over at Peradeniya, Gampola, Nawalapitiya, Hatton, Talawekelle, Nanuoya, Ambewela, Ohiya, Haputale and Diyatalawa on its way to Bandarawela and stop over at the Polgahawela station as well on the return trip to Colombo.
