Sri Lanka Ceramics Symposium

The Sri Lanka Ceramics Council (SLACC), affiliated to the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will organize a ceramics symposium on January 21 and 22. This is the fourth time the Council is organizing this event.

Following the resounding success of the previous Sri Lanka Ceramic Symposia held in 2002, 2004 and 2006 the SLACC is holding its hallmark event for the fourth time. The Symposium - under the theme Breaking through traditions" - will consist of a conference and an exhibition. The venue will be the Taj Samudra.

The conference and the exhibition will feature foreign suppliers alongside the local manufacturers. Several suppliers from Italy, Germany, India and China have confirmed their presence, as at date.

The focus of the symposium will be key strategic issues in the local and global arena, in relation to traditional ceramics and explore avenues for diversification into advanced ceramics. It will also explore opportunities for technology transfer and encourage scientific research related to the ceramic industry.
