The Kandy Police arrested an employee of a leading textile shop in Kandy for stealing 163 sarongs from the shop and selling them to other vendors in the city.

According to police the suspect had been engaging in this form of theft for a long period with the support of a threewheel driver. Kandy police arrested both suspects and are conducting further investigations.
