Eight porn stars identified
The Police Children and Women Bureau said eight porn stars displayed
in newspapers were identified and there are more to be identified. A
senior officer of the Police Children and Women Bureau told the Daily
News that two were released on bail and other six were released after
taking statements. They will be produced before the courts and legal
action will be taken against them, he said.
There was a trend among young Sri Lankans to produce porn films in
recent history and it had been a menace to superimpose the faces of
popular and unfriendly characters through the internet, he added. While
20 porn stars are still to be identified. Information regarding these
footages will be presented to the court in a report within a month, he
said.
Those who have appeared in these pornographic videos without their
consent or due to being forced upon it are advised to inform the nearest
police station in this regard, police requested.
Police warn the public not to publish photographs in the face book or
any other blogs in the internet when there is a risky of penetrating
freely in the cyber space.
