We are a strong and proud nation - Minister
Mass Media and Communication Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said we
should provide an answer to the world and showcase our potential as a
strong and proud nation as it was in the past. The world community
should understand that we have an ancient heritage and proud history, he
said.
Minister Rambukwella expressed these views at the launch of Palitha N
Senanayake's book "The War Fueled by Peace" held at the Colombo Public
Library Auditorium yesterday. This was organized by the F R Jayasooriya
Foundation.
"The war was a heritage we received from independence", the Minister
said.
When we are attempting to solve the present political issues we
should first answer the international community.
We should convey to them that we need home made solutions for all
internal matters, he said.
"Sri Lanka experienced a long felt separatist war and we should
struggle to find solutions through diplomatic relations in redressing
the grievances. This book could be kept as a forerunner of the country
and it should be propagated among the community to enhance the ethnic
harmony, he said.
Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said we had to
make numerous efforts to wipe out separatism from Sri Lankan soil and
now we have achieved the freedom so that everybody could move freely in
any part of the country.
