Two women returning after Bodhi Pooja die in accident

Two women returning home after participating in a Bodhi Pooja died when they were knocked down by a speeding vehicle.

The tragedy occurred on the Panadura-Horana road at Bolgoda, Bandaragama last week.

The motor vehicle had fled after the accident.

The dead were identified as Rosalin Wickramasuriya, 75, and Margarette Fernando ,72, of Bandaragama.

Bandaragama and Panadura Police are investigating.
