Environment polluters see red

Rs 80,000 has been collected as fines from several people who were found guilty of polluting the environment.

Balangoda Magistrate and District Judge Namal Bandara Balalle fined those who pleaded guilty to illegally mining and transporting sand, pavement hawkers and those who dumped garbage into drains.

The suspects were nabbed by the Balangoda Police Environment Branch.
