Transmec Engineering has tied up with the world’s best passenger
vehicles manufacturing company, Yutong to transfer technology for bus
manufacturing.
The company has also decided to start a vocational training centre
along with the inauguration of the manufacturing plant.
“The company is looking for new export markets in Pakistan and
Bangladesh. We are still at the initial discussion stage with both
countries,” he said.
“There is a good response from the first shipment to Nepal than we
expected.
The car Micro MX7 was displayed at the Nepal Motor show by Malla
Group and it received positive comments for its outlook, quality and the
price,” Dr. Perera said.
The second shipment to Nepal will be two vans and one Micro MX7 which
will leave by December end. Malla Group has been given the after sale
services training while one Micro staff member will also visit Nepal to
train Malla Group staff in January.
Micro Cars in the hope of catering to the expanding Sri Lankan
construction industry will launch a new dump truck with 32 tons capacity
this week,” he said. The passenger vehicle industry in Sri Lanka will be
improved according to the budgetary decision to lift taxation for
passenger vehicles.
“People in the passenger vehicle industry will invest in new vehicles
rather than investing on old vehicles with the new taxation scheme,” he
said. |
