Projects inaugurated

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa inaugurated several projects in the Mahara electorate under the 'one work for one village' program in the Gampaha district Wednesday. Under this, 2,000 development projects were completed within 40 days.

The Minister said during a shorter period, the entire Gampaha district was electrified. By 2012, water will be provided for each house in the district, he said. He said President Mahinda Rajapksa has instructed to supply basic needs such as roads, water and electricity for all houses in the country.

All these development projects were completed in 40 days to accelerate the development efforts, he said.
